About Us
Hi, we are Mim and Mark Cross. We have been the proud owners of Rosebery Cottage since 1996 and treat it as an extension of our own family of 5! Mim runs the centre managing the day to day operation and Mark does the maintenance and bookwork. We have both worked in the Childcare Industry for over 20 years and absolutely love it. We pride ourselves on Rosebery Cottage and its care of your children. We are a franchise of Care for Kids, Australia’s most comprehensive child care resource.

Rooms and Care Numbers
Nursery 6 weeks – 2 year olds
This room takes up to 12 children and the care ratio is 1:4. We have babies as young as 4 months and love to give them the TLC they deserve while mum/dad are away for the day.
Toddler 2-3 year olds
This room takes up to 15 children 2 to 3 years, and the care ratio is 1:5. We have a very nurturing environment where the children can develop their confidence, become independent and develop resilience required in a faster paced preschool setting. We try to transition our 2 year olds from the nursery into the toddler area over a couple of days/weeks to get them used to the change in pace and environment.
Rosebery Cottage Preschool 3-5 year olds
In our preschool area we have up to 20 children with a care ratio at 1:10. The older children are given a sense of responsibility and ownership for their own tasks as their motor skills and communication skills are on a fast growth
spurt. Our 5 years olds can participate in school readiness programs to help them with the big move from childcare to full time school and we even encourage our 5 year olds to wear their new school uniform to Rosebery Cottage in the last few weeks of the year so that they can start getting excited about the big changes ahead whilst in a nurturing and familiar environment.
Our Early Learning Programme
At Rosebery Cottage, our staff all share a passion and commitment to early childhood education, and in a way that celebrates cultural diversity.
Each child’s individual needs and interests are fostered and the journey integrates the elements of the Early Years Learning Framework. These elements incorporate language, numeracy, music, dance, art and craft and sports skills development.
Community involvement is essential to our programme because it involves the participation of engaging communicators from all walks of life, such as firemen, police, surf lifesavers, dentists, doctors and pilots. Early lessons can be the ones best learnt.
Through all of this we carry the theme of responsible sustainability. Trees and chooks, gardens and worm farms are all relevant in our daily routine.
Play Areas
You can see in our Gallery photos of our fun play areas, we have our quiet inside play nooks, outdoor adventure areas, the chook house, fairy garden, creek bed which doubles as a construction area for truck play and tent city. All are intended to stimulate and delight the children at Rosebery Cottage.
